Milan: Gialli Giumar N18, 1959. Vintage Italian hardcover in dust jacket, translation of "Michael Shayne's Long Chance." Digest-size hardcover in jacket. Featured is prolific 50s model Mara Corday in gold bathing suit on red sheet on the front jacket panel. Corday had appeared a year prior as Playboy's Miss October (1958). Mara is not credited on the jacket flap, but other models were credited on the flaps of other editions. The Gialli line is one of Italy's finest mid-century offerings: translations of (mostly) American crime fiction w/ lush full-color pin-ups of the era's popular models, even Jayne Mansfield, Lili St. Cyr, & June Wilkinson.
