Cherrie Knight (vintage pinup digest magazine, 1950s)

New York: Delmar Publishing, 1950s. V1 N3. Vintage nude pinup digest magazine featuring buxom burlesquer & pinup model, Cherrie Knight, posing & emphasizing natural assets, in heels, bracelets, on floral print, white pillars. Cherrie was one a buxom feature on the burlesque circuit, like Tempest Storm, both fierce redheads. Brief burlesque career allowed for later work in sexploitation films "Teaserama" & Russ Meyer's "Erotica," once popular until mid 1960s, striking allure yet rampant.

This issue composed half of Cherrie, half of buxom Black model. Ties to Marno, Marr, both publishers of similar titles, w/ order forms for Marno (Miami, FL) photo sets (Ann Peters vignette) at the rear.

Hundreds of similar digest magazines were produced by fly-by-night operations, mainly around New York, notably Burmel Publishing (Lenny Burtman's enterprise). Many were published as photography and/or art "studies" booklets, w/ technical camera data, exposure chart, & the standard emphasis on sexual liberation; early issues featured several models per issue & many maintain airbrushing techniques rolled over from nudist magazines, much of the posing naturally obscures otherwise censored areas. Still scarce institutionally.

32pp, 5.25 x 8 inches, B/W throughout, duochrome wrapper, saddle-stapled. Very Good overall, rubbing, faint foxing, a few short corner creases.
