Fanni Hall, and The Art of Bondage (6 Vintage magazines)

Los Angeles, CA: House of Milan, 1970s. Six vintage magazines, 1978-79, 1984, 1992, all first printing, saddle-stapled quarto softcover, 5 from House of Milan, and a later title from Lyndon Distributors Limited. From the estate of Andrew J. Offutt, with his hand-colored additions to several illustrations, and a few issues with brief notations, like page numbers, in holograph ink. Included: Bishop on Bondage, Bishop: The Art of Bondage, and 4 issues of his eponymous magazine.

Robert Bishop was a prolific, self-taught artist in the 1970s-80s, whose high-contrast sheen illustrates fantasy damsels in distress and their captor knaves in startling reality. Bondage, flagellation, intricate apparatuses, role-playing, tight leather and Kinbaku (or "shibari" = tied up tight). Regarded by many as the best of time, known to be a "Rembrandt of bondage art" but in reality echoing the crisp tones of Eugene Bilbrew and Tamara de Lempicka.

Offutt, whose books emulate the work of Bishop and similar artists, was an avid science fiction author noted for "Conan"-themed fantasies, and 100s of erotic novels under pseudonyms John Cleve, Turk Winter, John Denis, Opal Andrews, etc.; Winter was a name attached to his more violent novels, including the "Blunder Broad" comics series he produced with Eric Stanton. For consenting, discriminating mature collectors, recalling the erotic underground John Willie and his followers.

Very Good overall, most with moderate rubbing, light foxing, brief creases, one remainder. Full collation upon request.
