B/W throughout, 72pp. Vice & true crime magazine featuring femme fatale cover w/ shovel-wielding woman held back by desperate stud while she aims at forlorn stud below. Front Page Detective began 1940s, ran for about two decades, published by an industry powerhouse. A magazine that regularly recounted contemporary and historical. FPD did not however showcased staged intro photos posed by professional models for nearly every article & story like many crime titles of the era. Doorstep thief, worth 1 million alive, YMCA killer, snake in the grass, footprints, Harvey Weinstein, death for $50, on parole, classic ads (Barbara Nichols "photo enlargement" ad, also seen in "True Detective" and "Crime Detective" mags 1940-50s).
