Korman, Murray (photographer) Blonde in Latex dress (Original photograph of uncredited model)
New York: Murray Korman, Circa 1940s. Vintage B/W photograph of uncredited non-nudeblonde on photographer Korman's recognizable pedestal, wearing a black & shiny dress w/ matching heels, & a white satin kerchief. Korman's logo bottom right. This woman w/ painted eyebrows may have been a model, a showgirl, a dancer, or an actress; likely she was hired for her silhouette. Korman's work featured high contrast, high gloss appeal of Hollywood, showgirls, models, performers, w/ a subtle but consistent presence of eroticism. Many of his photographs echo the camera club esthetic of the Bettie Page era, even as his highest achievements came nearly two decades earlier.
8 x 10 inches, single-weight, glossy recto, 3/8 white border. Near Fine, slight curling, a hint of toning. [Book ID 125984] [Photographs]
