This viewer dates c. 1951-52.

Tru-Vue (Rock Island, 1930s-1950s; Beaverton, Oregon, 1950s-1960s), produced stereoscopic bakelite viewers & filmstrips, later strips in color. The strips were fed through a slide viewer similar to a View-Master, multiple colors issued & collectible on their own. Hold the viewer w/ strip up to light, images appear in 3D. Several films were released, each seemingly w/ an issue number, many documenting nature, portraying children's stories, Disney characters, night life, current events. Eventually Tru-View would join View-Master over at the manufacturer, Sawyer's.

Very Good Plus overall. Garden of the Gods in two pieces, other rolls w/ a few tiny edge chips, a little dry. Complete in original 2pc box, a little rubbed.  [Book ID 126017] [Novelties]
