Virgin for Sale (Vintage Paperback, Arline Hunter cover model)
N. Hollywood, CA: Frimac Publications, 1963. First printing of this edition. Originally published as Carousel Book 504 in 1962. Pseudo-bondage contoured photo cover featuring a cherubic Arline Hunter in loincloth and loose rope, seemingly freed from being tied to a pole; image repeated on rear cover. Hunter began working as a model for Gala magazine, bore a striking resemblance to Marilyn Monroe (perhaps more so than any other), and her slender, 5-foot-6, 38-24-35 dimensions helped garner her the August 1954 Playboy Playmate of the Month. Three men kidnap a woman and take her to an isolated area in Miami Beach. Softcore. Very Good plus, with rubbing, slight spine lean, and some leaves trimmed at the fore-edge (obscuring text; production flaw). [1999, Steve Sullivan, "Glamour Girls: The Illustrated Encyclopedia," no. 523]. [Book ID 125006] [Vintage Paperbacks (VP)]
