Virginia Bell (2 vintage adult pinup digest magazines, 1950s)

New York: Burmel Pubilshing / Dawson Publishing, 1950s. Two vintage adult digest magazines featuring burlesque dancer & pinup model Virginia Bell, seen here in photographic studies wearing heels, hose, garters, elegant gloves, on shag carpet, in chairs, several nearly nude poses. Bell was a California native of Croatian heritage, widely regarded & still popular to date, she dabbled in burlesque, her dimensions 46-27-38 made an unstoppable presence on the strip circuit, where she became known for her buxom qualities, as "Ding Dong" Bell. A regular in "Night & Day," perhaps the best of the large-format pinup magazines, as well as the later "Fling" magazine. Definitely too big for Playboy, to no discredit.

Hundreds of similar digest magazines were produced by fly-by-night operations, mainly around New York, it seems. Early issues maintain airbrushing techniques rolled over from nudist magazines, but much of the posing naturally obscures otherwise censored areas. Still scarce institutionally.

Presenting: Virginia Bell (N13, Burmel, great leg centerfold, around the house, old stereos);
